Why do you or I dislike some genres of music while loving others?
What aspects of our social environments influence us as music fans? What shapes our musical tastes?
Music is made up of simple elements like rhythm, melody, harmony, dynamics, and timbre. Each of which improve the experience and expression of a piece. Should Music Still Be Called Music? In an age of samplers, recording studios, and keeping up with the continual development of technology, is music still the same art form or is it something completely new? Today, music is more diverse than ever, with genres blending and changing Music can be divisive in various ways, often leading to strongly held opinions and conflicts among listeners.

Snobbery in music is essentially a prejudice for certain genres and a disregard for others. Critics look down upon genres compared to their choice of music, which they hold up as superior. By addressing this issue, we create a more fair environment. Listening to a diverse range of music ensures that every type of music and artist is celebrated.
While personal taste and subjective experience inevitably colour a critic’s perception, a fair review also requires a degree of objectivity. This involves assessing the music not only on its technical merits. Consider its artistic intent, and its context within the broader musical landscape. Judgement should focus on the various aspects of the music and less on a comparison of the artists / composers.
